Rugby
My name is Rhylyn Graham I’m 7 years old. My speech topic today is about rugby.
I started playing for Te Rarawa under 7’s last year which involved me ripping tags from my opponents and running with the ball on attack to score tries.
This year I'm playing for Te Rarawa Under 9’s which involves tackles, fending, running it straight, blowing over, passing the ball to my mates and trying to get tries.
So far I have had a player of the day 3 times this season and I have managed to score one try.
I really enjoyed playing rugby and learning from my coach. Next year I will still be in the under 9’s rugby team and my goal is to score more tries.
Rugby is cool because you get to have fun and you get to play hard, it’s really challenging, it’s my favourite sport.
